Tick Tock Tick Tick Tick......

It's been a hectic week. I've completed a project that included a roll out to over 79 different countries, a 4 day conference in Orlando (more of that to be posted), two 3 hour road trips, and if I look hard enough a possible partridge in a pear tree. Needless to say it's been an awesome experience. OK, so working 61 out of 72 hours and then driving to Orlando was rough but it has been worth it.

A little something about your Daddy's job; it's insane. It's hard to explain what I do in terms that most understand:

First, I am a consultant. I advise our clients on best practices, new inventive ideas on how to use our system, and I am always on call 24/7. When I say global, I really mean all the way around the world.

Second, I am a project manager. I over see the projects I am assigned to, review specs / process, set/ manage expectations, and maintain time lines.

Third, I am expected to wear every hat that anyone work with me does. What this means is that i have to be able to perform any task I ask of anyone else in the office. This just ensures that I can make the deadlines happen.

Fourth, I am an analyst. I get analyze problems and come up with inventive ways to overcome obstacles. This is my favorite part of the job. It's like being a "code detective".

lastly, I am (try to be) a friend. I work in a very virtual world. I can literally go weeks with out actually coming face to face with a person. So it is very important to me that I can be a friend and involved with more than just work around the office. There are a quite a few friends that I have come to depend on. We make a great team and can do the impossible daily. People bring us their hardest problems in hopes we can help. How awesome is that?

My day to day is hectic but dull to normal people and I will save you the small details. However Sarah, you must know, I can do all of this because of you. My life is ruled by dates and times and there is never enough of either. I can hear the clock ticking mixing with the tribal beat of passion every day. I love as hard as I work and it is expressed in the outcome each and every time. I cannot keep from using my heart in my work. I hope you have the same "problem". Living, loving, praying, playing. Sarah, it's how we do it.

Take care and I will post on Disney soon. Keep an eye on the mail. there is a surprise for you coming.

All my love,

Daddy

Looking for something totally different, I happened upon your blog. As the mom a child with a checkbook dad, I appreciate your letters to your daughters. You should definitely post more to her. Just so happens I have a new blog on wordpress addressing this absent father. It's called thecheckbookdad.wordpress.com. Would love your comments there. I think dads and daughters have something special - keep it up! Many blessings!
